Trail Journeys is a local business and is the largest, longest established operator on the Otago Central Railtrail. We have a fleet of 500+ Comfort and Mountain bikes. These bikes have been specifically designed for Trail Journeys by Avanti. After years operating on the Railtrail, Trail Journeys realises what is important for our customers and the bikes have been designed to provide the maximum comfort for the type of riding you will encounter. Our bikes are replaced and updated every year to provide our customers with the very latest in equipment. These cycles have front suspension with comfort saddles and seat suspension to make your journey as comfortable as possible.

We are located at Clyde Railhead, the start of the Rail Trail.
MIDDLEMARCH:
We are located at 20 Swansea Street, on the Main Highway through Middlemarch, We offer showers, internet access and have diesel and petrol self service fuel pumps.

 Riding part or all of the the Otago Central Rail Trail on horseback. Imagine how amazing that would be. What's more, Trail Treks will do all the arranging for you. Airport connections. Accommodation. Everything. All you do is mount up and in the company of your 'Trail Boss' literally hit the trail. A 'Camp Mother' also comes along to look after the needs of you and those of your trusty steed. Trail Trek horses are 'bomb proof' and have been specially trained for conditions on the Rail Trail by owner and experienced horsewoman Kelly Keenan. Cyclists riding up behind them, high viaducts and dark tunnels are all taken in their stride.
Trail Treks can plan and organise a start to finish Rail Trail horse trek or a 'combo experience' where you may elect to spend just a day on horseback with the rest of your time cycling or walking. Trail Treks also organise high country trail riding experiences.
Only Trail Treks holds a concession from the Department of Conversation to provide guided horse treks along the Otago Central Rail Trail.

very close to the Poolburn Gorge with its viaduct and tunnels if you're
looking to do a day trip. You can choose from our fabulously comfortable
Specialized comfort bikes for rail trail bliss, or our sport mountain bikes
if you're looking for some off trail adventure. All bikes include helmet,
pannier bags, bike light, spare tube and tools and we use air-seal tyre
sealant to decrease the chance of a puncture.
