New owners Stephen & Sarah fell in love with the hotel while cycling the trail and spent much of 2009 renovating and refurbishing to provide quality accommodation combined with traditional country hospitality. Choose from private en-suite rooms with huge King beds, family rooms and a 19th century mudbrick “Rustic Room”. We also specialise in group accommodation and can configure rooms to suit. Catch up on the day’s news in the guest lounge area complete with plasma TV, or just relax back on the comfy lounges and chat with fellow travellers. Disabled facilities are available.
The addition of a spacious all weather deck affords stunning views of the Maniototo and for those who love dining alfresco is perfect for enjoying some of the best food on the trail. Meals include a set price “Cook your own BBQ” , Bistro and A La Carte. As part of our refurbishment we also have a stunning new dining room. Our kitchen can cater to all dietary requirements, however we ask that you discuss requirements when booking.
Staying at the historic Waipiata Country Hotel is also a wonderful opportunity to sample some of Central Otago’s quality wines. A 'must-try' is our own label 'Waipiata Hotel' Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc bottled by Stephen's relatives who own a well-known Central Otago winery.
