Big Sky Cottage is a charming, character 1930s mud brick house providing self catering accommodation right in the heart of Lauder and within 100 metres of the Rail Trail.

The house caters for exclusive, single-party occupancy for up to 4 people. It has two spacious bedrooms, with one king and one queen bed. The house is well equipped with modern appliances and furnishings that have been carefully selected to reflect the deco style.

As you walk in the front door you are struck by the rich oak panelled hallway and the character, warmth and history of this well crafted deco mud brick home with stunning deco plaster ceilings.

Big Sky Cottage was built from mud bricks made in Lauder. While the mud bricks are not instantly apparent you will soon notice the benefits - cool in summer, warm in winter and quiet all year round.

The wide veranda at the front provides a cool, relaxing spot to escape the summer heat in a rocking chair with a cool drink. Visit www.bigskycottage.co.nz for pictures of the house and area and for more information.

As numerous guests have commented, Big Sky Cottage is a wonderfully peaceful place to relax and get away from it all.
